I’m not sure who put this together, but I found this chart recently which allows collectors to convert Noble numbers to PSS numbers when using newer and older precancel catalogs. Unfortunately (or fortunately!) this isn’t really possible, since the PSS numbering system added so many new styles. Hopefully, if you have older Noble or Hoover catalogs, this will help you figure out the PSS number. However, you must have a PSS Town & Type catalog to narrow the choices down.
